A Geography Doll Story consists of five books in four different genres.  The books are intended for a 9-14 year old audience but span the interests of the whole family.

The first is children's literature in the form of a short novel, or novella, classified as realistic fiction.  It is historical fiction about ordinary people.  The protagonist is between 9 and 12 years old and was born in the 20th century.  Photographs depict the era or setting.  Two separate and distinct stories, one about a girl and the other about a boy, take you to a special place.

The second genre is a non-fiction narrative classified as historical geography.  It is a timeline of events and cultures related to one place.  It incorporates world history and personal circumstance that brought a culture to a particular place.  It is meant to inform parents and students, and initiate communication within the family. 

The third  is a children's picture book, a language arts/alphabet book.  Photographs show pictures of items that are familiar to the culture or setting, and the book is bilingual.  This is appropriate for young children as well as students learning a second language.

The fourth  is non-fiction -  cooking/regional and ethnic.  It shows and teaches the fabric of a culture -  food and celebration.
