Author Bio

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY: Trudy Sauri has studied and enjoyed the culture of the Yucatan, Mexico for over thirty years. Because of the lack of information about ordinary people living in that state, she set out to share the customs and unique history of this exotic region. The location, history and people come alive because of the many stories told by her friends and family.  Exciting research and new archaeological discoveries made it fun to present this story for children.

Trudy, a mother of two sons, especially enjoys working with middle grade students. Always a den mother, volunteer or teacher of religion, teaching children came natural to her. She believes in the magic of being ten years old and the power of learning about the world. Trudy plans to share the world through books about history, geography, language and culture. She enjoyed a career in business and accounting before entering the world of children’s book writers.

Trudy grew up in Michigan, attended University of Massachusetts in Lowell and lived in Florida prior to moving to Maryland where she resides with her husband and near her adult children and their families.
